Portal Pinball Preview

Here’s preview of the Portal Table from Zen Studios for Pinball FX 2. This was recorded yesterday and as shown, it suffered from some nasty ball lag that really made the table difficult to play. HOWEVER, I played it again today without streaming or recording and the table played as smooth as silk. I was also able to nail down the mechanics and aiming. I currently sit first on the all time leaderboards for the table at 741,825,010 points. Enjoy the preview, but know that NONE of the ball lag exists in the actual game when you’re playing it (only happens when you stream or record it possibly).

There’s a lot more I have to say on the table that I’ll be going over during this Saturday’s show!

If We Could Have A Moment Of Your Time….

This…well, this is a big day for us. We’ve finally launched our Patreon!

What does this mean? Well, it means we’re finally opening up a way for you to support us financially. And that’s a very big deal for us. That being said, it’s very important that you read these next two paragraphs about this whole new world we’re stepping into.

For those of you who might be unfamiliar with the concept of what Patreon is, you should watch this quick video.

You should also watch the video at our Patreon page as well as read all the info. It’s a lot to read, I know, but we aim to be as upfront and honest about everything – from the things we’ll do with your money to why we even decided to ask for your money. And make no mistake, this is YOUR money and we want you to do with it how ever you see fit. We aren’t begging, we hope we aren’t being pushy and we sure as shit don’t want you to feel obligated. All of this is explained on our Patreon page and in our video, but to be very clear, IGC isn’t going anywhere if you don’t contribute to the Patreon. As well, you won’t miss out on content if you don’t contribute. We will NEVER hide any of our content behind any kind of pay wall. Ever.

Here’s the next part that is very important. If you have any questions about this or doubts about this, we want to hear from you. We want to know if you have concerns or problems with this. On the other side of that, we want to know if you like this and if you’ll support it. We want to know if there’s something YOU want to see from us that we don’t have listed there on the page. We can’t read your minds so we need to hear from you. Feedback from you, our listeners and supporters, is so extremely crucial to us – both in this funding campaign along with the show itself and our other projects. So please, let us know what you think. It’s really important to us.

On behalf of James, Matt, Dennis, ArJay, Nate, and myself…Thank you. Thank you for taking the time to read this. Thank you for donating if you did, thank you for considering it if you didn’t, and thank you for continuing to listen to the show.

On The Next Episode Of In-Game Chat…

I’m typing this early and while still at my day job because when that’s over with my time will be consumed by both inFAMOUS: Second Son and Metal Gear Solid V: Ground Zeroes. Second Son being released on Friday lined up perfectly with the GameFly delivery time of Ground Zeroes, so both James and myself will be devoted to getting in as much time as we can with both titles.

Joining the two of us tomorrow night will be ArJay and Matt and we’ll be talking of all these games we’ve been playing – the two I mentioned previous along with ArJay’s time in Atlanta for Final Round plus whatever he has put into Dark Souls II. Oh, and I think at least one of us took a crack at Deus Ex: The Fall.

If you’ve dived into any of the games mentioned or some that we haven’t, why not call in with your thoughts at 334-272-9228?

We hope to see (and hear from) you LIVE tomorrow night!

On The Next Episode Of In-Game Chat…

We’ve been doing this show for 8 years now and from the beginning we’ve made mention of someone that most of you have never heard or seen. This person exists in casual mentions and stories from the past. You may have once heard this person’s voice in a phone call, but for the most part they’ve been in the background and only part of the show in conversation.

Tomorrow night, after 8 years, James, Dennis, Matt, and myself will be joined in-studio by Kevin. It’s a pretty big deal for us as we’ve always considered him part of the show, but he’s never physically been able to be a part of the show. Until now.

Outside of that we hope to have an update from ArJay on his time in Atlanta at Final Round, plus, there’s the whole world of gaming to talk about along with your calls and questions at 334-272-9228!

We hope to see (and hear from) you LIVE tomorrow night!

Three….Two….One….FIGHT!

For the past few episodes we’ve been mentioning the fact that our very own ArJay will be heading off to Atlanta this weekend to compete in the Final Round fighting game tournament. This week, he finally got his schedule as to when he’d be competing.

First up is Soul Calibur 5. That will take place tomorrow (Friday) from 2 to 5 Eastern. He’s in Pool 4 for this game.

After that, he’ll be fighting again on Saturday from 2 to 4 Eastern with Super Street Fighter IV: Arcade Edition v2012. He’ll be in Pool 21 for this game.

Beyond that, we don’t know when exactly he’ll be up to bat, but you watch the live stream on Twitch.

We hope to have updates and possibly have ArJay on the phone with us during the show Saturday night.

On Tonight’s Episode Of In-Game Chat…

It’s weeks like this that we figure we could probably pull off a show five days a week.

While it’ll only be ArJay, James, and myself, it’ll still be a miracle if we’re able to cover everything we want in the two hours we have tonight. There is A LOT to cover. From the situation at Naughty Dog to finally hearing something on Watch Dogs. That’s not even half of it. We’ll also be talking with ArJay about his trip next week to the Final Round tournament in Atlanta. We hope to have his schedule so you can possibly watch him compete on Twitch next week.

It’s been a busy week, we’ve got a lot to talk about, and as always the phone lines are open for this episode so you can bring your thoughts to the table for discussion. Our number is 334-272-9228.

We hope to see (and hear from) you LIVE tonight!

We’re getting closer and closer to when ArJay will be heading off to Atlanta for the Final Round competition and we’ll talk with him more about that during tomorrow night’s episode.

Also tomorrow, James & Matt will go over their first impressions with Thief. They both come from the background of the original games and will likely base their thoughts in the differences of those experiences. Or not. Speaking of, have you played Thief, or anything else for that matter? Why not give us a call and tell us your experiences and thoughts?

Regardless, we’d love to hear from you! As always, the phone lines are open for this episode and you can bring whatever you like to the table for discussion. Our number is 334-272-9228.

From two hosts last week to E V E R Y O N E this week!

Tomorrow night it’ll be James, ArJay, Matt, Dennis, and myself in the studio broadcasting live and we hope you’ll be there with us. Sure, you can play Pokemon through Twitch, but you’ve been able to control our show that way for a good while now – why not give it a try tomorrow night. Or, better yet, just call in and talk about whatever you’d like from the world of gaming – we take requests as well.

Not that we’ll have little to talk about. With so many people back in the studio we’ve a lot to cover with where they’ve been and, more importantly, what they’ve been playing. Along with their thoughts on the recent news from the week. Plenty to be said on Titanfall, Irrational Games, and a load of other news items. Not to mention whatever you might bring to the table in the chat room during the show or by way of the phone lines. It’s all up to you!

As always, the phone lines are open. Our number is 334-272-9228.

We hope to see (and hear from) you LIVE tomorrow night!

We’re a lonely little show this week as it’ll just be myself and ArJay in the studio tomorrow night.

With that said, we’ve invited some friends along to help fill the void of the other hosts. Tomorrow night we’ll start things off talking with Ben Ruiz. Some of the games he’s worked on you might be familiar with (Off-Road Velociraptor Safari, anyone?), but his current project is a game called Aztez. It’s part beat-em up and part strategy. We’ll get all the details from Ben and ask him your questions!

Also tomorrow night we’ll be joined by Jason Hughes from Adhesive Games, makers of the free to play multiplayer mech shooter Hawken. We’ve been fans of the game for a long while now and the game is finally making its way to Steam this month. We’ll get all the details from Jason and ask him your questions!

Plus, we’ll have beta keys to give out for Titanfall on both PC and Xbox One, but you’ll have to listen to the live show in order to win!

As always, the phone lines are open for this episode and you can bring whatever you like to the table for discussion. Our number is 334-272-9228.

On Tonight’s Episode Of In-Game Chat…

Last weekend we never actually talked about anything gaming related going on in the week or weeks to come. So, with this episode, we’re playing a bit of catch up!

Join ArJay, Matt, and myself tonight as we pull a few stories from this past week and the week before and give a bit of our perspective on them. Having Matt back in the studio without a huge celebration going on will give us time to find out what he’s been playing, plus there’s Episode 2 of The Wolf Among Us. As of this writing, I don’t know who on the show has played it so you can probably expect some spoiler free talk along with some technical issues talk as I had some myself with the PC version.

As always, the phone lines are open for this episode and you can bring whatever you like to the table for discussion. Our number is 334-272-9228.

We hope to see (and hear from) you LIVE tonight!

On The Next Episode Of In-Game Chat…

On February 2nd, 2007, In-Game Chat went live on the radio. Actual, live, FM, FCC moderated, terrestrial broadcast radio. Something that still surprises even us. Since that time, we’ve changed our name once and reverted back to our original name, done a live show for nearly every single day of the week, gone off the air, out of the studio, live from my living room, a hotel room, a trailer, a rehearsal room, a conference room, and likely a few other shady places I can’t remember at the moment.

That all just means that if we’ve been able to do a show, we’ll do a show. And we’ve done 300 of them now (it’s actually more, but there’s a few after-shows and extra contents we didn’t count). What’s more, you’ve been with us for the past 300 plus episodes. Some of you since the very beginning, some picked up on us when we had a special guest or just found us by accident. But your support over the past 300 episodes is the reason we’ve kept doing them in whatever way we can.

On behalf of James, Jeremy, Dennis, Daniel, ArJay, Matt, myself, and everyone who’s been a part of the whole of In-Game Chat, we cannot thank you enough for getting us to this milestone and supporting us for the past 8 years of broadcasting.

Tomorrow night we’ll gather in the studio where we did our very first episode and bring to you a 2-hour celebration of the past 300 with special guests, calls from previous hosts, listeners, giveaways (beta keys, anyone?), and more. We invite you to be a part of the show and call in with your memories and moments and make our 300th just that much more special. You can reach us at 334.272.9228.

We hope to see (and hear from) you LIVE tomorrow night!

Hosts are dropping like flies for tomorrow night’s episode. It’ll be ArJay and myself in the studio with the possible appearance from James in the second hour.

Regardless of who’s there we’ll likely be talking about what happened this week with the saga of Candy Crush and The Banner…Saga and the interesting developments that seem to come daily from that situation. Plus, there’s this whole thing going on with YouTube, Machinima, & Microsoft about paying people to say good things about the Xbox One. Except, just don’t say you are getting paid to say good things about the Xbox One. Legal? Underhanded? Marketing? Will discuss what we know and what we think, but you’ll have to decided if we’re getting paid for it or not.

We want your input and opinions! Our phone lines are open during the show and you can call in and be on the air with us to give everyone listening your thoughts on the matter by calling 334-272-9228.

We hope to see (and hear from) you LIVE tomorrow night!

We’ve got a lot on the list to talk about tomorrow night, but we’re not yet sure what will make the cut. There’s the little info we’ve gotten out of the Steam Dev Days along with more nominations, this time from DICE, and whatever games we have been dipping our toes in for the time being. And by “we”, I mean “ArJay, James, and myself”, because that’s who’ll be in the studio tomorrow night.

Regardless of the news, I’d like to talk about a feature of our show that makes us somewhat unique among most other shows. It’s our phone number. 334-272-9228 You can call that number during our live shows to talk to us and offer your opinion or ask us questions. It’s come a long way since we were on the air a few years back and we’d love to hear from you. Comments in the chat room are great and we love those but we can sometimes miss those or hit another topic of conversation before we see what you’ve written. The quickest and best way to give us your opinion or share a point is to call that number.

It’s something we’d like to make a regular thing, but we’ll need your help and effort to do that. So the next time you have a comment to add to the conversation or a question to ask any of us or the audience listening, why not call us?

We’ll see you (and hopefully hear from you) LIVE tomorrow night!

It’s the first full week of the year and….it’s been kinda busy.

Tonight join ArJay, James, and myself as we cover some of the high points of the week and talk about the announcement of PlayStation Now. Both James and myself have dipped our toe into the waters of streaming games with OnLive and we’ll compare that experience with what we think we’ll get from the service.

A few weeks back we spent an entire segment telling you about the problems of VGX while mentioning other game award presentations out there and we finally got the nominations for one of them. We’ll go over the noms for this years Game Developers Choice Awards.

Plenty more to talk about as well with Steam machines being revealed and player counts in Titanfall.

Also tonight, we’ll be speaking with Danielle Swank and Jim Fleming from Barking Mouse Studios. Just this week they released their first game on iOS called Lost Toys. A puzzle game without the pressure. We’ll talk to them about what that means, their beginnings, and what’s to come from this two-person studio.

We’ll see you tonight in the studio LIVE!

On The Next Episode Of In-Game Chat…

Tomorrow night’s episode kicks off our 8th season of In-Game Chat and we hope you’ll join us live for the broadcast.

The first game finished for 2014 ended up being Assassin’s Creed IV, for me. We’ll chat with ArJay, Matt, Dennis, & James to find out if they finished anything off in the opening of the new year.

Also, as you may know from last week’s episode, James is the new owner of a PS Vita so we’re sure to get some of his impressions of the device and his enjoyment with it so far.

Plus, James and myself sat down with the Oculus Rift to try out a few demos and we’ll do our best to explain something that really has to be experienced.

It’s a new year, with new consoles, new devices, and a brand new season of In-Game Chat!

We’ll see you live in the studio tomorrow night!
